Staying in a Courtyard Classic Room felt like a cozy retreat! The grounds were stunning, and we wandered through beautiful gardens. Loved the beamed ceilings, even though I bumped my head a couple of times. The atmosphere really made us feel like we were in a fairytale!
Felt more than at home, no complaints.

The historic building offers a beautiful ambiance, perfect for a tranquil getaway. The original wooden beams in my room were a nice touch, and the housekeeping was exceptional, keeping everything impeccably clean. the dining experience was marred by the lack of available dinner reservations in the restaurant, and the drinks were noticeably overpriced.

We spent our afternoon enjoying music at the UK's largest environmental festival and met my favorite rabbit in a blue jacket. The place is perfect for exploring local gems like Hadrian’s Wall and Alnwick Castle. The snacks in the room were a nice touch too!
Only downside was the low shower head, which was a bit awkward for taller folks. it took a while for the hot water to kick in.

lumley castle has a great vibe! our courtyard classic room was very comfortable, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. i loved how they quickly moved us to a quieter area when noisy guests arrived above us. the grounds are lovely, with beautiful gardens and friendly kitty named poppet. breakfast was fantastic too.
the restaurant could improve the service timing.

Just a fine choice for a quick stopover in Chester-le-Street with good price-quality ratio. The bed was enormous and very comfortable, really helped us relax. Try to book a room with a separate living area for a bit more space.

Cozy stay with charming vibes
The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. The castle itself has so much character, especially the Library Bar – perfect for winding down with a drink. The only hiccup was noise from a wedding that made it tough to sleep. a lovely experience!

I spent a night in a cozy Courtyard Classic Room and loved the nice long soak in the hot bath after a long day. The library bar is a fantastic spot to unwind, and the beautiful grounds are perfect for a leisurely stroll. The room could use a little updating, but I’d definitely recommend checking this place out for a unique experience! 😊

missingWrote a review on Oct 23four-poster bedfriendly staffroom noisedecor update
The courtyard superior room felt cozy with a lovely four-poster bed. I really enjoyed the comfy atmosphere and unique charm of staying in a historic castle. The breakfast was fantastic on Friday, especially the variety of options. Sunday breakfast was disappointing. The plate was cold, and my egg was undercooked. I faced some noise issues from neighboring rooms, which made it hard to relax. the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help, but the room needed a bit of an update, like better storage in the bathroom.
